Sept 12, 2024 – Ericka Keller l participated in the Affordable Housing Private Roundtable to discuss critical issues affecting the delivery of Affordable Housing units in the five boroughs as well as commonalities across the country.
On August 1st, 2024, Ericka presented to entrepreneurs in the construction business and related industries, strategies tips and advice on ways in which to contract with the various City agencies specifically NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) as well as discussed, the M/WBE Build Up Program implemented in 2017.
Brisa participated as a keynote speaker for The Greater Harlem Real Estate Board and RBtheRealtor ‘s Summer Real Estate Networking Event sponsored by Meridian Bank and National Standard Abstract.
Brisa will participate In the NYREC ELM Conference this year on a panel entitled, “Structuring Strategic Partnerships “
Brisa will participate in the Pre-Conference on May 17th sponsored by IPED for the “New Construction Case Studies Workshop“
Ericka will participate in a panel discussion about careers in the real estate industries with other NYC/NYS Women Developers who’s firms participated in the Developers of Color Cohort 1 hosted by LISC New York.
Ericka moderated the “Making New York Affordable Across the Five Boroughs” Panel session where there was a robust discussion about the challenges facing affordable housing including the volatility in pricing excessive arrears and continuing pipeline backlog from the COVID pandemic , difficulties closing financing gaps and creative and constructive solutions.
Each year Ericka is committed to being an Ambassador for Women in Construction at the New York Build Expo.
Ericka participated in a roundtable discussion with other women developers highlighting the challenges and solutions to development in New York City
Ericka was asked to serve as a panelist for the Resurgence Conference to discuss the emerging real estate trends as we are poised to enter into a new stage of recovery from the effect of the global pandemic. The audience will explore our resurgence in all of the various global and business markets.
New York Real Estate Chamber Emerging Leadership Conference, Ericka participated in the Women in Development Panel in addition Faith Based Development Panel, the Women in Development Panel afforded Ericka the opportunity to discuss the unique experience of Women in the commercial real estate industry and in the world of affordable housing to an audience of development colleagues and individuals looking to get in to the development space.
The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) presents this free online M/WBE Mentors program event for our New York City-certified Construction Minority- and/or Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs)
Ericka served as a panelist for both the Women In Development and the Faith- Based Development Panel Discussions at the annual Emerging Leaders and Markets Conference hosted by the New York Real Estate Chamber (NYREC) in an effort to support and inform new BIPOC organizations in the various real estate industries.
Ericka Keller along with other panelists discussed what they were currently working on along with the key themes they are seeing in the market place specifically as related to post pandemic design changes, geographical shifts , NYC policies, changes to the asset types, sources of capital, and supply chains. There was also in depth discussion about equity and opportunities for BIPOC entrepreneurs , important trends facing businesses today, key lessons learned from the pandemic and the silver linings.
The COVID19 pandemic magnified the disparity and inequities of opportunity and access that exist in this country yet simultaneously provided a pathway to the value of new voices that can create a more inclusive reality in construction and other markets that have been traditionally exclusive. Hats off to the New York Build Expo for acknowledging the influence of women in the construction industry year after year.

Ericka Keller joined other panelists on HPD’s Joint Ventures and Partnerships workshop as part of the series of M/WBE Capacity building course offered to developers and related industries provided by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development ( HPD). For the third year, as an invited guest Ericka was able to share her knowledge, experience, and successes in joint partnerships for affordable and supportive housing with the class cohort.

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), in partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services, was proud to announce its HPD Build-Out networking and contractor seminar series for Affordable Housing Projects. HPD Build-Out offers development teams the additional opportunity to network with M/WBE and small business contractors interested in working on HPD assisted affordable housing projects. Opening remarks included the Commissioners of NYC HPD and SBS.
