Ebenezer Plaza wins Innovation Award for affordable housing community
The development, with $300 million in underwriting, also offers expanded community services, including a soup kitchen, food pantry, educational programs for adults and children, computer training and family counseling. During the Housing Partnership’s 41st annual gala on Oct. 23, Jamie Smarr, president and CEO of the NYC Housing Partnership and Adolfo Carrion, commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, will jointly present the Innovation Award to the owners of Ebenezer Plaza.
The Housing Partnership’s luncheon gala brings together stakeholders in the city’s affordable housing community, including developers, architects, attorneys, lenders, faith leaders and affordable housing advocates.
The gala luncheon will feature New York Times columnist and author Charles Blow as a special guest speaker. Blow writes about national politics, public opinion and social justice, with a focus on racial equality and LGBTQ rights, according to his New York Times profile.
